Research Achievements

Closely aligned with the Chinese Academy of Sciences' (CAS) "Pioneering Action" Plan and the construction of the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center, the institute has focused on key application areas such as advanced manufacturing, energy, information, environment and health, and defense industries. It has achieved a series of influential research results in basic and forward-looking research, high-tech research, key industrialization technologies, and technology transfer, making significant contributions to national security, national economic development, and social progress. Over the years, it has accumulated nearly 1,200 scientific and technological achievements and received 429 science and technology awards above the provincial and ministerial levels, including those from the state, CAS, and Shanghai Municipal Government, among which there are 30 National Invention Awards, 9 National Natural Science Awards, and 16 National Science and Technology Progress Awards. Additionally, it has filed 4,528 patent applications, with 2,668 patents granted at the end of 2022.
