The Shanghai Biomedical Materials Testing Professional Technical Service Platform (referred to as the Testing Platform), relying on the Shanghai Biomaterials Research and Testing Center of the Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, is one of the first batch of professional technical service platforms in Shanghai. Through the concerted efforts of three generations, the Testing Platform has successively received the honorary title of "Excellent" Shanghai Professional Technical Service Platform in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2024. Currently, the Testing Platform is headed by Researcher Liu Xin. The platform has obtained accreditation from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CMA), and China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) for inspection and testing institutions, meeting the standard requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 "General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories." In terms of biological evaluation of medical devices/biomaterials, it not only possesses testing capabilities synchronized with national or industry standards in China but also leads the industry with testing capabilities synchronized with international standards such as ISO, capable of issuing legally binding medical device testing and evaluation reports in both Chinese and English for domestic and international clients.

Moreover, the platform has long been dedicated to the research and development of novel dental and biomaterials, the exploration of the interaction between materials and the body and its mechanisms, the formulation and revision of national and industry standards, and the evaluation of the biological safety of materials. It has carried out a series of domestically leading and internationally synchronized research work, contributing to the transformation and application of domestically produced dental biomaterials and innovative medical devices.
