Liu Xin, a researcher and doctoral supervisor, currently serves as the Director of the Shanghai Research and Testing Center for Biomaterials and the Director of the Shanghai Professional Technical Service Platform for Biomedical Materials Testing.

Director Liu Xin has long been dedicated to the research and development, evaluation, biological effects, and mechanism studies of oral (biomedical) materials. He has presided over three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, won the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, and led four projects above the provincial and ministerial levels. In recent years, as the first/corresponding author, he has published over 30 SCI research papers in prestigious journals in the field of biomaterials, with a combined impact factor of 220, and these papers have been cited more than 1000 times. He holds four authorized national invention patents and has led/participated in the formulation of five industrial/group standards. Additionally, he serves as the Deputy Editor (both print and digital versions) of "Oral Materials Science," the "14th Five-Year Plan Textbook" for undergraduate dental medicine majors in universities nationwide, published by the People's Medical Publishing House. He is also the Deputy Editor of the "Journal of Oral Materials and Instruments," a core journal in China's statistical source, and holds various academic positions such as Deputy Director of the Biocompatibility Evaluation Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, Standing Committee Member of the Dental Materials Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association, Standing Committee Member of the Bioceramics Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, Committee Member of the Marine Biomaterials Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, Committee Member of the Biomaterials Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomedical Engineering, Committee Member of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomedical Engineering, Committee Member of the National Technical Committee on Standardization for the Biological Evaluation of Nanomedical Devices, Expert of the National Technical Committee for the Standardization of Medical and Sanitary Materials and Dressings, Deputy Director of the Dental Materials Professional Committee of the Shanghai Stomatological Society, and Committee Member of the Biomaterials Professional Committee of the Shanghai Society for Biomedical Engineering.

Xue Miao (Jun. 21, 1929 – Jan. 26, 2020) was a lifelong professor, chief physician of prosthodontics, and doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. In 1947, he enrolled in the Dental Department of Aurora University Medical School. In 1960, he participated in the establishment of the Dental Materials Research Laboratory of Shanghai Second Medical College and presided over its work. In 1982, he served as the deputy director of the Dental Materials Research Laboratory of Shanghai Stomatological Research Institute and founded the Biomedical Materials Research Laboratory of Shanghai Second Medical College, where he also served as the deputy director. In 1988, he was appointed chairman of both the Oral Materials Research Laboratory and the Biomedical Materials Research Laboratory of Shanghai Second Medical University. From 1989 to 2003, he served as the chairperson of the Shanghai Biomaterials Research and Testing Center.

As a leading expert in the field of stomatological materials science and biomaterial biocompatibility research in China, Professor Xue Miao had long been devoted to the research and development of stomatological and biomaterials, as well as biocompatibility studies. He served as the principal investigator of over 20 projects, including national "Eighth Five-Year Plan" key scientific and technological projects, 863 Program projects, international collaborations, and significant research projects funded by ministries, commissions, and municipalities. He has received 19 awards, including the Second Prize of National Education Commission's Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the Third Prize of Ministry of Health's Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the Third Prize of Shanghai Municipal Government's Significant Scientific and Technological Achievements Award, and the Third Prize of Shanghai Scientific and Technological Progress Award. He was the chief editor of five monographs, including "Applied Dental Materials Science," and participated in the compilation of three textbooks, such as "Prosthodontics" and "Prevention and Treatment of Stomatological Diseases." He served as the editor-in-chief of the "Chinese Journal of Dental Materials and Devices," and as a member of the editorial boards of "Chinese Stomatological Yearbook" and "Journal of Dialysis and Artificial Organs." He has published over 70 academic papers. He was honored as a "National Advanced Worker in Family Planning Science and Technology" (1988), a "Shanghai Advanced Worker in Family Planning Science and Technology" (1995), the "Ministry of Health's Pioneer Award for Technological Revolution" (1960), and the "Special Honor Award" on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Ninth People's Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (2010). Since 1992, he has enjoyed a special government allowance granted by the State Council.


Sun Jiao, second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, as well as a leading talent in Shanghai. From 2003 to 2023, she served as the chairperson of Shanghai Biomaterials Research and Testing Center. She has also held the positions of chairperson of the Department of Basic Stomatology at the School of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and deputy director of the Shanghai Institute of Stomatology. she is the chairperson of the 2nd and 7th Professional Committee of Dental Materials of the Chinese Stomatological Association, the chairperson of the 4th National Technical Committee on Standardization for Contraceptive and Obstetrical and Gynecological Devices, and a member of the National Technical Committee on Standardization for Biological Evaluation of Medical Devices, as well as the National Technical Committee on Standardization for Dental Materials, Instruments, and Equipment. She is an expert reviewer for medical devices at the National Medical Products Administration, an expert in biological compatibility evaluation of medical devices for German TÜV, and a reviewer for scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the "863" Program. She is also an evaluation expert for scientific and technological achievements, degrees, and graduate education assessments of the Ministry of Education, and the editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Dental Materials and Devices.

Sun has presided over 31 national (12) and provincial/ministerial (19) scientific research projects. She has published over 100 academic papers as the first or corresponding author in domestic and international professional journals, including nearly 70 SCI-indexed papers, and holds 13 authorized invention patents. She is the chief editor of the national college graduate textbook "Oral Biomaterials" and the deputy editor of the national college textbook "Dental Materials." Over the years, she has focused on the research and development, performance modification, and biocompatibility evaluation of dental and biomaterials. She has won 8 scientific and technological progress awards at the national, ministerial, and provincial/municipal levels. Professor Sun has been honored with titles such as Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the Basic Medical Scientific Research Innovation Award of the First China Women's Medical Doctor Association Wuzhou Women's Science and Technology Award, the Second Shanghai May 1st Women's Innovation Award (Individual), and the Shanghai "March 8th Red Flag Hand" honor.
